NFPA407 requires that aircraft fuelling vehicles (fuel servicing hydrant vehicle, aircraft fuel servicing tank vehicle or bowser) are bonded to the aircraft during fuelling by a cable designed for this specific purpose.

Intrinsically Safe Bond Connection Monitoring Systems, with Power Supply Module located inside the vehicle cab (safe area) address this requirement, at the same time as monitoring the connection to ensure a proper Bond between fuelling vehicle and aircraft.

Additionally, the unit may be linked to a “Dead-Man” control, to shut off the flow of fuel to the aircraft in the event of a fault condition (fuel spill, fire etc).
